The Humble Tomato, located in the heart of Lewisburg, WV, offers a delightful experience that resonates well with both locals and visitors. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance of cozy and inviting, making it an excellent spot for dining any time of day. Diners rave about the build-your-own pizzas; the crust achieves that elusive crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside texture, paired with a sauce that harmonizes sweet and tangy notes. The toppings are fresh and flavorful, particularly the pepperoni and sausage, evoking what many have branded as "pizza heaven." Patrons also praise the meatballs as a standout dish—generously sized and surprisingly balanced in flavor. The Chicken Parmesan, served on a bed of linguine, showcases the restaurant’s commitment to simple yet delicious ingredients, highlighting a perfectly breaded chicken breast without overwhelming the palate. The brunch offerings, such as the Chicken and Waffles and breakfast calzone, have left a lasting impression on visitors. Though some have mentioned minor service issues, the comforting food and relaxing atmosphere have made up for any shortcomings. Overall, The Humble Tomato is not just about good food; it’s about creating a memorable dining experience that leaves you eagerly anticipating your next visit.

The Humble Tomato, another great spot we dined at during our visit to WV this past weekend. The food was amazing, the meatballs were one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend this restautant! We loved the decor too, can't wait to go back for more

Okay, listen up—if you haven’t tried the pizza from The Humble Tomato in Lewisburg, you’re seriously missing out. First off, let’s talk about the crust. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside—like, it’s the kind of crust you want to keep nibbling on even when you’re full. Then, the sauce? It’s got that sweet-and-tangy kick that just works—not too overpowering, but enough to make every bite pop. Now, the toppings. That pepperoni? Crispy and perfectly greasy (the good kind). The sausage? Absolutely flavor-packed—you can tell it’s fresh and not just any store-bought stuff. And the cheese? Pure melt-in-your-mouth perfection—gooey, stretchy, just the right amount of mozzarella to balance everything out. The Humble Tomato doesn’t play around when it comes to quality. Seriously, every bite felt like a little slice of pizza heaven. Plus, the vibe inside is chill, the staff is super friendly, and you can tell they’re all about serving up a legit pizza experience. If you're in the Lewisburg area, do yourself a favor and hit this spot up. Your taste buds will thank you. #PizzaGoals #HumbleTomato #FoodieFind

Hearty and Humble at The Humble Tomato After a full day of skiing, we were thrilled to find The Humble Tomato open on a Monday evening. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed—the hostess greeted us warmly, and our server provided top-notch service throughout the meal. The cozy and inviting dining area was clean and well-maintained, creating a relaxing atmosphere for our dinner. I started with the meatballs as an appetizer. The portion included three generously sized meatballs with a mild beef flavor that was satisfying but not overpowering. My Chicken Parmesan entree came with a fresh, crisp salad topped with a homemade blue cheese dressing that was a standout—creamy and full of flavor. The Chicken Parmesan itself featured a perfectly breaded chicken breast served over linguine with marinara sauce. The marinara was simple, or perhaps “humble,” staying true to the restaurant’s name. It had a pure, tomato-forward flavor without unnecessary sweetness or heavy seasoning. While it lacked bold intensity, it was fresh and satisfying in its simplicity. I can’t wait to return and try their pizza—if the rest of the menu is any indication, it should be fantastic!

Had a really nice brunch at the Humble Tomato. I had their Humble Salad with grilled chicken, which was really tasty and filling. I also had a gin martini from the bar. It was delicious. Their sausage breakfast pizza was really good, too. The eggs that topped the pizza were a little overdone. We sat outside in the garden patio. It was beautiful and the temperature was just right. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend The Humble Tomato.

Brunch was out of this world. Highly recommend chicken and waffles and the breakfast calzone. The spinach salad is quite small and average for 15 salad (and without a house made dressing). Waitress was wonderful. She kept apologizing for the food taking so long, but we didn't care, the atmosphere is just so great. Hostess needs a day off or replacement or something. Not friendly or accommodating and bordered on rude.

The only reason the atmosphere is missing a star is because Ben had to leave and he's the only one who knows how to light the fireplace. What's up, Ben? Kidding aside ... we had an excellent dinner with a great atmosphere and service at The Humble Tomato. The building (circa 1782) was quaint and cozy for a cold rainy Friday night ... if only Ben ... (sigh) salads and pasta were excellent. Visiting Lewisburg for the weekend and our first meal out did not disappoint.
